Member Training

The Junior League of Pasadena (JLP) is the premiere training organization for women in Pasadena!

The JLP was founded as an organization that trains women to be effective leaders and volunteers within the community. The training that the JLP provides to our volunteers is what sets us apart from other volunteer organizations.

According to our mission statement: “The Junior League of Pasadena is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.”

The JLP provides training for its members in the following ways:

The Junior League of Pasadena Annual Training Program – This series of seminars and trainings produced by the JLP’s Training & Events Committee help JLP members develop skills that will benefit them not only in their League and volunteer roles, but also in work and their family life. Trainings are held in three areas: League, Leadership and Life.

General Membership Meetings are held monthly in or nearby Pasadena and provide training and general League information in a large group setting. Speakers are often brought in to educate, inform and inspire.

Regional Conferences hosted by rotating Leagues in the Southwest Region serve to train Junior League leaders and members interested in becoming leaders on various topics ranging from effective leadership to health and wellness. Regional Conferences usually include presentations and keynote speeches from the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) as well as current newsmakers and trendsetters.

Placements are a source of training by their nature. Volunteers can receive a variety of training in each placement opportunity. Members have the opportunity to select from various placement positions available each year to impact their own training goals.

New Member Year (1st year) teaches the newest members about the JLP and the importance and impact of our community involvement.
